The Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) has officially received its first Dassault Rafale fighters, marking a decisive step in the modernization of its combat aviation.
The three aircraft delivered correspond to the twin-seat Rafale B model, with serial numbers T-0301, T-0302, and T-0303.
The delivery ceremony took place on 28 November at the Dassault Aviation facilities in Mérignac, Bordeaux, where the jets received their operational documentation. The aircraft are now undergoing their final preparation phase before the ferry flight to Indonesia, scheduled for January 2026.

The official Indonesian delegation was led by the Deputy Chief of Air Force Staff, Air Marshal Tedi Rizalihadi, accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the military attaché, and the team responsible for technical acceptance. During the event, Dassault Aviation and strategic partners Safran and Thales confirmed that the fighters are fully operational and provided specialized technical support.

In 2022, Indonesia signed a contract for the acquisition of 42 Rafale F4 aircraft — 30 single-seat and 12 twin-seat — in an agreement structured in three phases: 6, 18, and 18 units. Initial deliveries will only take place after the completion of training for Indonesian pilots and technicians.
With the arrival of the Rafale, the country begins the gradual replacement of its veteran F-16s and Russian-origin Su-27/Su-30 fighters, significantly strengthening its air defense capabilities and air superiority operations.
